I. The Good Shepherd Leads Us into Rest
a. 3 Observations on Rest
i. Rest does not come easily or naturally to sheep
ii. Sheep rest when they can see their shepherd
iii. The way to find rest is to keep the Shepherd in view

II. The Good Shepherd Leads Us into Righteousness
a. Phil 3:9 “...not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that
which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the
basis of faith,”
b. 1 Peter 2:24 “He Himself [a]bore our sins in His body on the [b]cross, so that we
might die to [c]sin and live to righteousness;...”
c. 2 Observations on the Right Path
i. The right path will not always be an easy path.

ii. Where the shepherd leads is always the right path.
III. The Good Shepherd Leads Us for His Name's Sake
a. Ezekiel 36:22
b. Isaiah 43:25 “...I am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own
sake,....
c. 1 Timothy 1:13 “...even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and
a violent aggressor...”
d. 1 Timothy 1:16 “Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost,
Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience...”
