Rocky Point Baptist Church was organized in 1858, three years before the Civil War. The first building was a log cabin, similar to the one pictured here.

The second building was a two-story building that was shared with the Methodists. In 1947, it was replaced with a block building, which contained an auditorium and five Sunday school rooms.

In the early 60’s, four rooms were added across the back and the blocks were covered with brick.  In 1970 the fellowship hall, kitchen and six classrooms were added. We have been growing and expanding ever since.
